The Bull in Thorn sits alone alongside an old Roman road between Buxton and Ashbourne. This haunted pub dates back to Saxon times where the original stonework can still be seen at the original end of the pub. Layers of history have then been added through both the Roman and Medieval ages. The Bull in Thorn on one hand is a warm and welcoming retreat that serves wonderful food and has a cosy log fire. On the other hand it can be a macabre and sinister building which has many resident ghosts and spirits who are not afraid to make their presence known. Glasses being smashed, shadows and things being moved along with whispered voices and a child laughing are all normal occurrences here. The Medieval Room itself is a daunting place to be in and the atmosphere in here hits you as soon as you walk in. The Haunted Happenings & Spooky Nights Teams enjoy their overnight ghost hunts here so much because of the wealth of activity and will keep returning to share this experience with others.
