For over 500 years the Bull i’ th’ Thorn has offered a warm welcome to travelers and locals alike.

During the 18th and 19th Centuries this was a prominent Coaching Inn on the Manchester to Derby route and we still offer a friendly and welcoming ‘old worlde’ atmosphere in our Medieval Inn and Restaurant.

Choose from  a range of Robinsons Ales, Guest Ales, Continental Lagers and a good selection of fine wines and spirits. If you are hungry we offer a choice of a menus. Bar snacks and lunches are served daily.

We have a large function room available for all types of events – why not try one of our Medieval Banquets for a celebration with a difference?

For visitors to the Peak District, The Bull i’ th’ Thorn offers en-suite accommodation. We also have an adjacent campsite with excellent facilities for caravans and tents.

Families are especially welcome at the Bull i’ th’ Thorn and are well catered for, with a separate children’s room, beer garden and play area.
